Light and Medium Oil Products Processing Project (1,500 m³/d Dehydration Unit at a Certain Gathering Station)
Integrated Full-Gravity-Balanced Oil-Gas-Water Treatment Unit

  To address the challenge of scaling up production and expanding the facilities at a certain gathering station while being unable to acquire additional land, a new fully gravity-balanced integrated oil–gas–water treatment unit was constructed. This unit replaces the pre-separation water removal by three-phase separators and the settling in large tanks, significantly shortening the crude oil processing flow. As a result, without adding any large tanks or requiring additional land acquisition, the oil processing capacity has been doubled.

 

  The integrated unit integrates free-water separation, high-frequency pulse dehydration, multi-stage gas separation and demisting, and buffer storage. Produced fluids, after buffering, heating, and boosting, are directly fed into the integrated unit for processing, enabling the single-step treatment of high-water-content produced fluids to produce purified oil.

 

  The integrated processing unit was commissioned and began receiving crude oil on April 27, 2023. It processes pipeline-inflow and pull-off crude from the field, with an average daily liquid throughput of 714 m³, a daily gas throughput of 10,183 Nm³ in the water outlet stream, and a daily oil throughput of 280 t. During operation, the incoming crude has a water cut of 55%–70%, while the average combined water cut at the outlet is 0.78%, with an oil content of 135 mg/L. This has ensured stable, qualified outbound oil sales for the field at the scale of the gathering and transportation station. The unit’s energy consumption is 0.294 kWh per ton of oil, with electric desalting accounting for 0.03 kWh per ton of oil.
